- Online ( Cloud based)
- Offline ( Local server based)
Before selecting the software, you need to understand your requirements. Ask the following questions yourselves.
For Online
- Do I require to access the software from outside?
- Will I have internet connection always?
- Will I get the database back if I terminate the agreement
- Will the vendor customise the software as per my requirements
- Can I change the Online version to an Offline version later on?
- Where is my data saved? ( Bound by goverment rule)
- How many users I will have?
- Is the data secure in a third party servers?
- What if the vendor shut down his operations?
- If they increase the monthly charges, will I be comfortable?
For Offline
- Is the database safe and stable after one or two years?
- What if any virus attack/system crash happens?
- Is it easy to use? Support graphics?
- In which all platforms it works? (Windows only!!)
- Will it work on mobile devices (iPad, Android Tabs… )?
- Do we require the installation on each computers?
- How the support works? How much will they charge for the support?
- How long is the support break down period?
- Will the vendor customise the software?
- Will it cover the entire operations including patient management, appointments, case sheets, finance, lab works, inventory, pharmacy,..)
